The characters are brilliant and you really think you are there with them gets you so captivated and you just want to keep reading to find out what happens next. It's heartwarming, romantic and learning about yourself and moving forward with what is right for you and to be happy with yourself. Set it a beautiful Cornwall village and around the village school.

Sylvie lives with her son Sam on her family farm but her mother has passed away and her son is about to start school. She goes down to the beech one day to their usual spot which is always quiet but she finds a man their with his daughter and they start chatting and he says he is going back to London tomorrow so she's pleased she won't see him again. Sam starts school and who should be there but the man she met on the beech Alex with his daughter Ellie who is starting school to she can't believe it as she thought she wouldn't have to see him again. The children build and really special bond and love being together and it means that both Alex and Slyvie spend time together but she finds him attractive but she's not saying anything as she wants to stay single. Marion at school who is the governor says she will get Alex married off as she wants him to stay in the village as he's a famous journalist but will she succeed or not. She wants him away from Slyvie but she doesn't realise she's a professional ballerina. She sets him up on a date as he's to frightened to no he's happy just him and his daughter. Sylvie suggests having Ellie for him but he's not sure as he's adopted her from a war zone and she's lost her parents and still has night terrors and he wants to be there for her. Slyvie wants to move out of the farm and get a job now Sam has started school and things fall into place very quickly with both as Rosie the head offers her a job doing PE at the school and also says she will see if she can rent the school hall out to her on a sat so she can start ballet lessons and she can't believe it's fallen in to place so well. She then gets a house as Rosie and her boyfriend move in together so a house is free she can't thank Alex enough for his help. Marion learns about Slyvie being a ballerina and soon wants her to marry Alex but she makes it so clear that she only sees Alex as a very good friend and that's all but she can tell the truth and Alex is upset as he wants more to. Both are putting children first and the children want them to be together to and they all plot a plan as Alex really realises he wants more and can he change her mind at all. Sam has an acident when they are putting there plan together and gets rushed to hospital and Slyvie rushes to hospital as so worried about sam as he's her world can they get the plan back on track or not and can they get together and be happy or can they just not move forward from the past.

A enchanting read with excellent plot and worth far more than five stars.

5☆ Enchanting, Funny, Warm and Cosy Romcom

The Cornish Village School - Second Chances is the second book in the series, but my first book.

It can be read as a standalone perfectly fine.

First of all I want to start by saying how gorgeous and eye catching the cover for this Charming feel good read is.

I simply adored this enchanting warm and delightful story of New Beginnings, friendship, love, romance, family, and teaching.

I simply adored this enchanting warm and delightful story of New Beginnings, friendship, love, romance, family, and teaching.

It had plenty of laugh out loud moments, drama, mishaps, mayhem, emotional moments, and a good sparkle of Romance. What more could You want!

Single Parent Sylvie and her son Sam meet the devilishly handsome Alex (also single) and his daughter Ellie on the beach.

The two children simply hit it off straight away. Sylvie and Alex.... Wow the chemistry between them fizzed with excitement.

But Alex tells Sylvie he is on on a short visit and won't be sticking around!... or Will he?

It's Sam's first day at school and he is now in reception class.

But Who happens to turn up on the same day.... Yeap you guessed it.... Alex and Ellie. Sam is over the moon and soon forgets his mum has even left him.

There is sooo much I want to say about this adorable book but I'm afraid of giving anything away. But if you read the blurb it will give you enough intriguing info.

I loved Sylive and Sam's Characters.

Sylvie is vulnerable after losing her Mum. Living on her Uncles farm isn't really helping. Sam is a shy little boy with a huge heart. The two of them together simply melted my heart.

I also loved Alex & Ellie. Alex too has a slight vulnerable side.

He is very handsome, strong and certainly has a soft spot for Sylvie. (Swoon)

For me, my favourite character is Ellie.

She had me laughing out loud. A lil madam, cheeky but incredibly cute with it and her bond with Sam is So cute!!

In fact I adored each and every single character. They was all beautifully written and I warmed to them all pretty much straight away.

I want to say a big thank you to Kitty for capturing Sam and Ellie's dialogue. It literally is SPOT ON!! And had me in fits of laughter.

I am a qualified nursery nurse and can so relate to the many mishaps and mayhem that happened at Penmenna School.

The pace was was fluid and captivating.

The writing style was engaging, entertaining and witty

A heart Warming and Cosy little Tale, that was romantic, funny and feel-good.

It was an absolute joy to read!

So Get ready to fall in love with the Cornish Village School and it's endearing and loveable characters.

Perfect for lifting your spirits. Enjoy!!

Thank you to Ellie Pitcher at Canelo for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

This one hit all my sweet spots- starting with the Cornwall setting! Heads up that there is some dialect here which you might want to sound out but it's no impediment to enjoying the book. Sophie, Sam, Alex, and Ellie are all looking for a new beginning, each for their own reasons. Of course things don't always go easily for the adults (or the kids, really). There are some great characters in addition- such as Sophie's uncle Tom. While a little predictable (but don't we need that sometimes?), it

Alex and Sylvie both want the best for their children and while they are good friends, more deeper feelings are growing between them.

It’s the second book in the series, but works well as a standalone book too. I really liked the family and friendship ties between the characters, the children and the romance between Sylvie and Alex. Reading about the warm beach days made me miss the summer even more. It was a heart warming book about village life, friendship, family and love.

I had high expectations for this book, but it simply was not the read for me. I envisioned a book more along the lines of a "Miss Read" book, but instead the narrative was "too modern" to engage me. While I think the intended audience is adult, the writing style struck me as being more appropriate to a middle school audience. I did not feel a strong sense of place in Cornwall either, probably because the descriptions are brief and lack the adjectives which draw a reader into the landscape. If sc

If school stories with the headaches of modern technology, overpacked schedules, and societal problems is your idea of escape reading, give it a try. If not, go back and re-read the Fairacre and Thrush Green stories of an earlier day and time. I received an advance review copy of this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
