Wow! What a great addition to the series. I had high exceptions for this story after loving book #1 and it definitely lived up to it.

There’s so much action in this book which I loved. Sabrina, the main character, had to visit the hospital twice within 12 hours because of multiple attacks that were made on her. This book is definitely fast paced. ;) The mystery side of things was intriguing with the case of human trafficking. I absolutely love how everything fell into place towards the end and h

I fell in love with these characters in book #1 and I just loved getting to read about them all again. They are such a fun group of friends who always have each other’s backs. I’m definitely hoping to see a book about Gabe next. ;)

I have throughly enjoyed this series so far and I definitely recommend it!

Y’all In Too Deep gripped me! When this happy piece of book mail arrived in my box, I couldn’t wait to read it. Of course, I had to wait until the kiddos went to sleep, but once they did I entered Carrington, North Carolina.

There is so much that goes on. Not just suspense wise. Not just romance wise. But let’s solve a crime that’s more complex than anything you can think of. I LOVED it!! I had to make myself go to bed at midnight–I have kids I must sleep–but I woke up extra early to finish and b

I had to make myself go to bed at midnight–I have kids I must sleep–but I woke up extra early to finish and boy am I glad I did.

I did not see what was coming. I mean I knew something was coming because of the amount of pages left (thank goodness the back didn’t trick me with extras), I just didn’t know what. And when that what was revealed–whoo! All in all, I was happy with this read even more than I was with book 1, Beneath the Surface. And I eagerly await book 3!

*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. My review was not required not influenced.

Because you just can't stand the thought of somebody missing out because they might not know about it? Well, that's me right now over In Too Deep.

Serious reader nirvana magic. Especially if you are a romantic suspense lover! And if you favour quirky heroines and quietly intense heroes and awesome team dynamics and a complicated suspense that's layered with intrigue and danger and all things sinister.

So we have Sabrina who is adorably literal -- brilliant scientific mind, a technology whiz but not able to navigate normal social cues. Love the way the team accepts her and how patient and understanding Adam is of her unconventional ways. He's been in love with her practically since the day he met her but he's so cautious and a little bit bumbling which makes him great fodder for lots of good-natured ribbing from his friends. And then crazy happens and suddenly emotions are heightened and how can he not say something while he still has a chance?! Phew!!! These two together are sweet and amusing with a sizzling side of toe-curling!

And I love the way Blackburn has included a strong inspirational thread throughout the story. It flows naturally from the faith of each team member and brings a spiritual focus to the tough subject matter.

"...it's not about how big our faith is. What matters is how big our God is."

In Too Deep was impossible to put down yet I was reluctant to reach the end. The kind of novel you love because it's glorious and you hate because it doesn't last forever.

Blackburn knocks it out of the ballpark with In Too Deep, book two in the Dive Team Investigations series!

To be honest, after being a bit disappointed by book one, Beneath the Surface, I didn't have very high expectations for this one. But Blackburn exceeded those expectations and then some!

From page one, I fell in love with the main characters, Investigator Adam Campbell and Dr. Sabrina Fleming. Both of them are such strong, well-rounded, realistic characters on their own, and together, they are simply fabulous. As I observed in Beneath the Surface, Blackburn's background characters are pure gold. Gabe Chavez is always great for lightening the tension with his epic sense of humor, but I also enjoyed seeing his more serious side in this book, and I am looking forward to seeing more of him and Anissa in book three. It was also good to hear from Ryan and Leigh again. The interactions and relationships between the entire dive team are just awesome.

The story itself moves along very quickly and there is no lack of suspense and edge-of-your-seat moments. The story takes an interesting and unexpected turn near the end that leaves you guessing. Unfortunately, I guess the villain very early on in the story, so that ruined a bit of the suspense for me, but I was still able to enjoy the story. The main subject - human trafficking - is a subject very near to my heart, so I found that aspect very interesting. I appreciated how Blackburn didn’t go into too many nitty-gritty details, yet still accurately portrayed the atrocity of modern day slavery.

The romance was very sweet and clean, which, not being a fan of the romance in the first book, I greatly appreciated. Blackburn also has a very laid back and casual writing style which I am not typically fond of, but I appreciated it in a setting like this one.

Overall, I greatly enjoyed In Too Deep, and this one is going on my favorites shelf! If you are looking for an fast-paced suspense read with a sweet romance and fabulous characters, then this one is for you.

Content Advisory: Mentions of labor trafficking and the sex trade, although not in detail. A murder, an attempted murder, and mentions of an illegitimate child. As for the romance aspect, nothing went beyond the occasional kiss.

FTC disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. I was not required to write a positive review. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.

For anyone who read Beneath the Surface last year, that sneak peek at In Too Deep definitely left you ready for it’s release! Good news for us all!! The wait is over.

While the entire team works together to solve what initially could be labeled a suicide, the focus is on Adam, the white collar crimes investigator with a family everyone in Carrington knows and Sabrina, an intelligent professor who helps the team with all things online.

Sabrina is adorable naïve when it comes to picking up nuances with body language and, sometimes, verbal hints. While she’s a genius, her social interaction make her likable. Adam’s got some issues with his family but when it push comes to shove, they love each other.

Lynn H. Blackburn brings these characters to life within the pages. From their interactions with each other—the banter is great—to their professional positions, each person in this group has a unique personality. And then there is the added suspense—and oh, boy, is there a lot of it in this new release with plenty of twists and turns (a couple resulting in a few trips to Leigh’s emergency department).

I loved catching up with Leigh and Ryan and getting to know Sabrina and Adam better. Next up, Gabe (and I’m hoping Anissa as I feel like things have been brewing between them for two books).I have a feeling Blackburn is saving the best for last.

'An untested and unchallenged faith is unproven.'

Lynn Blackburn takes us into book 2 in her Dive Team Investigations series with this offering and it's quite a good ride, too! However, soon Adam's family is implicated and both Adam and Sabrina have attempts made on their lives. What has the victim discovered that someone wants to keep hidden so badly that they want to murder again to keep that from happening?

Deftly told, Blackburn immerses (pun intended) her readers into the action from the very beginning and keeps them occupied until the very last page is turned. I couldn't wait to finish it. Now I look forward to the next in the series very much. Highly recommended.

*My thanks to the publisher and author for a preview copy of this book. My opinion is entirely my own.

In Too Deep is about my favorite couple of the first book of the Dive Team Investigations, so I was very happy and excited about that. Just like the first book, the action was intense and the romance was just waiting for a quite moment to bloom (plus, another couple I've been shipping since the first book seem to be finally hinting at a future romantic relationship...), and the stakes are high as ever. My only real complaint is that the book is just so sad. The hero's backstory is sad (and he's

My only real complaint is that the book is just so sad. The hero's backstory is sad (and he's my favorite character, so that's unacceptable), and the heroine's entire life is sad. I mean, I suppose it's realistic to life, especially dealing with the heavy content that it does, but, still, it made me... sad.

Still, I love the characters and look forward to reading further in the series and watching the next romance bloom (especially if it's that one couple I've been shipping since book one....).

    Dive Team investigations book# 2

I received this book from the publisher Revell through the first reviewer program for my honest and unbiased thoughts.

    The blurb sounded good:

“When the dive team is called in to recover a body from a submerged car, they aren't prepared to find an encrypted laptop--or an unsettling connection between investigator Adam Campbell and the dead accountant. Adam's team calls in Dr. Sabrina Fleming, a cybersecurity and computer forensics expert.”

This book has an interesting premise and it started just fine but things went south and fell apart not long into it. What I thought was a mystery surely wasn’t... where was the suspense? In my books, “In Too Deep” is more of a Christian romantic fiction than anything else and a soft one at that.

This should have been an exciting read but it was far from it. First, the two protagonists Adam and Sabrina had a thing for each other but never let on and this feeling went on well over the 1/3 of the book. Yuk, I was starting to get impatient. After all, wasn’t this supposed to be a mystery with suspense and some action….no no no, not for over 100 pages. Then here came the “God-ism” and prayers, the religious connotations are quite superfluous and just plainly cut into the flow of what could have been a good story. Although Ms. Blackburn did not over do this it was still bothersome. The plot had many holes and simply did not come across as realistic. Sabrina came up with answers based on what; there were neither explanations nor real investigation. The main characters were not bad players they were just too bland for my taste….The last few chapters brought some suspense and were captivating although it ended in what I would call a romantic dream…..awe…..“In Too Deep” is not a bad book at all. The story simply was not my cup of tea but it may be yours…
