Christmas on Mistletoe Lane is the debut novel in Annie Rains’ new Sweetwater Springs series. I adore reading Annie Rains novels because she creates interesting, relatable characters and unique, emotional stories for them. Christmas on Mistletoe Lane is the debut novel in Annie Rains’ new Sweetwater Springs series. I adore reading Annie Rains novels because she creates interesting, relatable characters and unique, emotional stories for them. Kaitlyn Russo and Mitch Hargrove learn they have inherited the Sweetwater B&B from Kaitlyn’s grandmother. Mabel Russo’s will stipulates that Kaitlyn and Mitch have 8 weeks to get the B&B up and running and they must run the inn together. The unusual provision in Mabel’s will intrigued me and drew mw into the story.

Grandmother Mabel’s inheritance is the answer to Kaitlyn’s prayers. She left her job after a client made unwanted advances towards her and desperately needs a fresh start. Kaitlyn needed the B&B to be successful. I love how running the inn, becoming a member of the Sweetwater community and connecting with her guests restored her confidence. Mitch worked for Kaitlyn’s grandparents and isn’t sure if the B&B can be restored or if they can even afford to pay for the inn’s upkeep. Mitch spends time with his mom and reconnects with his high school friends. Annie Rains writes great military heroes; I adored Mitch Hargrove. His transformation from a broody ex-marine to an important member of the Sweetwater community was flawlessly written.

Annie Rains is an amazing story teller—her descriptive voice and her honest, emotional dialogue draws you into the story. I could picture Mitch and Kaitlyn picking out the Christmas tree for the inn, Mitch teaching Kaitlyn to cook and the couple falling in love as they worked together to restore the inn. I adored the attraction between Kaitlyn and Mitch, the B&B guests and their stories, the importance of community in the town and the secondary characters of Alex, Tuck Cassie and Kyle. Mitch’s conflicting emotions and career decisions play an important role in the story. The last few chapters of the novel are perfectly paced, emotional and very romantic as Mitch realizes the true spirit of Mabel’s gift.

If you are looking to read a holiday story full of second chances, romance and magic, pick up a copy of Christmas on Mistletoe Lane. It’s got all the feels—and a fabulous holiday message.

left me scratching my head somewhat in that it just didn’t have the same spark or feel to it as its predecessors. Kaitlyn and Mitch’s story however is up there with the best of them, and I think it was the added sprinkle of Christmas magic that just made it all the sweeter in its reading.

This is a couple pushed together with match-making from the grave, and although both of them are dealing with some heavy personal demons, the author kept the drama that unfolded because of them on the down-low. I liked the plethora of secondary characters we get introduced too as Kaitlyn and Mitch get settled back into small town life, although for Mitch it may only initially be the two months up to Christmas that he is obligated to stay in order to fulfil the terms of Kaitlyn’s grandmothers will.

But working and living in close quarters while trying to get the

back off the ground, also opens up other possibilities for this couple on a personal and romantic level, when they both start letting their carefully constructed emotional walls down around each other. But is it enough to make Mitch stay? especially as the reason for his long absence previously is something he has to face head on if he wants to make his life in

    a more permanent arrangement.

A perfect beginning, to the series. Annie has set expectations high for the next book

especially as it is going to give us widower; Tucker Locklear’s story, and I cannot wait to read it!

I truly enjoyed this fun holiday read which kicks off a new series from this author. It is wonderfully written with some pretty amazing characters. What she didn't expect is the rundown condition the place was in or the fact that she had to share ownership with Mitch Hargrove. Mitch just wants to sell the place and be done with it but the conditions of the will don't allow for that. Since he has two months to kill before his new job starts he agrees to stay and help get the old place up and running again. Never did he expect the bossy Kaitlyn to get under his skin and have him rethinking his future. I highly recommend this one.

That is exactly what Christmas on Mistletoe Lane by Annie Rains is–– a book about two people facing a massive change in their lives via the inheritance of a beautiful old bed-and-breakfast. Although this place needs some heavy TLC, these two characters, Kaitlyn and Mitch, will do their best to make it work while falling in love in the process.

I found Christmas on Mistletoe Lane to be sweet, fun, and adorable; and even though it’s fade-to-black, there is still heat within the pages. I can’t wait for you guys to find out for yourself when it releases on September, 25th. So do yourself a favor. Grab this book and dream of a Christmas where love is in the air.

Sweetwater Springs #1, I've said it before I'll say it again, I love it when a new series starts with a Christmas book. This was an easy romance not a lot of external conflict just the characters coming to terms with their situations, Jacob has something from his past he needs to let go of and Kaitlyn has to deal with her seemingly unsupportive parents. Written in duel third person POV between Kaitlyn and Jacob you get a good insight into each of their characters and where they are coming from m

This was an easy romance not a lot of external conflict just the characters coming to terms with their situations, Jacob has something from his past he needs to let go of and Kaitlyn has to deal with her seemingly unsupportive parents. Written in duel third person POV between Kaitlyn and Jacob you get a good insight into each of their characters and where they are coming from mentally.

It was happenstance Kaitlyn was fired from her dream job for something that wasn't her fault and Jacob's job was put on hold until after the New Year and them both inheriting the Sweetwater Bed and Breakfast. Kaitlyn's grandparents ran the B&B for as long as she could remember the summers she spent there were some of her favorites. The Russo's were always nice to Jacob and his mother giving him odd jobs to do during the school year and always making him feel welcome. But Mabel Russo was always a bit of a meddler and she stipulated in her will that both Kaitlyn and Jacob had to run the B&B for two months before they could sell it or else it would go to charity. Kaitlyn saw this as her second chance and Jacob just wanted out of Sweetwater Springs and never look back but for two months he could do it. The attraction between Kaitlyn and Jacob was pretty much instantaneous but Jacob has no plans on staying and Kaitlyn wasn't leaving so a fling between the two was just the thing they need to burn through the attraction and then go their separate ways. Easier said than done.

Overall, this was a really good romance. It is not explicit, all the stuff that happens in the bedroom is left to your imagination. The main focus is the building of the their relationship with each other, their parents and with the community, and with Jacob reconciling with his past. It's a great intro to this series and it's quirky cast of characters.

What can I say? This book was perfect to get me started in mood for Christmas! This book had me giggle, smile, chuckle, and sigh with contentment . I actually thought it was going to be one of those cheesy Christmas novel but I was wrong. There were some delights in there. I love it when I'm glowing and thinking about Christmas at the end of the book! Whoever wants to get into Christmas needs to follow my direction with this book!

I received this sappy, wonderful, fuzzy warm feeling ARC from Net Galley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) in an exchange for my honest review. Thank you!
