left me scratching my head somewhat in that it just didn’t have the same spark or feel to it as its predecessors. Kaitlyn and Mitch’s story however is up there with the best of them, and I think it was the added sprinkle of Christmas magic that just made it all the sweeter in its reading.

This is a couple pushed together with match-making from the grave, and although both of them are dealing with some heavy personal demons, the author kept the drama that unfolded because of them on the down-low. I liked the plethora of secondary characters we get introduced too as Kaitlyn and Mitch get settled back into small town life, although for Mitch it may only initially be the two months up to Christmas that he is obligated to stay in order to fulfil the terms of Kaitlyn’s grandmothers will.

But working and living in close quarters while trying to get the

back off the ground, also opens up other possibilities for this couple on a personal and romantic level, when they both start letting their carefully constructed emotional walls down around each other. But is it enough to make Mitch stay? especially as the reason for his long absence previously is something he has to face head on if he wants to make his life in

    a more permanent arrangement.

A perfect beginning, to the series. Annie has set expectations high for the next book

especially as it is going to give us widower; Tucker Locklear’s story, and I cannot wait to read it!

That is exactly what Christmas on Mistletoe Lane by Annie Rains is–– a book about two people facing a massive change in their lives via the inheritance of a beautiful old bed-and-breakfast. Although this place needs some heavy TLC, these two characters, Kaitlyn and Mitch, will do their best to make it work while falling in love in the process.

I found Christmas on Mistletoe Lane to be sweet, fun, and adorable; and even though it’s fade-to-black, there is still heat within the pages. I can’t wait for you guys to find out for yourself when it releases on September, 25th. So do yourself a favor. Grab this book and dream of a Christmas where love is in the air.

Turn on Christmas music quietly. As soon as you get on the couch, drape that cozy blanket over you and pick this book up and start reading. Turn off your phone and as an optional do not disturb sign for your door will do.

What can I say? This book was perfect to get me started in mood for Christmas! This book had me giggle, smile, chuckle, and sigh with contentment . I actually thought it was going to be one of those cheesy Christmas novel but I was wrong. There were some delights in there. I love it when I'm glowing and thinking about Christmas at the end of the book! Whoever wants to get into Christmas needs to follow my direction with this book!

I received this sappy, wonderful, fuzzy warm feeling ARC from Net Galley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) in an exchange for my honest review. Thank you!

If you’ve been thinking, I’d like to watch a Hallmark Christmas movie, but I also want to read a book, you should pick up Christmas on Mistletoe Lane by Annie Rains. This story follows Kaitlyn and Mitch, two strangers, both at a crossroads in their lives, who suddenly find themselves co-owners of an old inn in North Carolina.

This story had every cute, if slightly hokey, Christmas romance theme I love. The rundown inn Mitch and Kaitlyn need to restore together, small town charm with a cast of quirky, yet lovable, characters, and a few conflicts that only make the eventual happily ever after that much sweeter. One of my favorite parts of this story was actually Mitch and Kaitlyn’s relationship (one Mitch pulled his head out of the sand). I thought their easy friendship and chemistry was believable and sweet.

There were a few parts that made me roll my eyes, I mean, there was a “villain” for maybe 2.5 seconds and every conflict is resolved within a few pages. Some parts were a little too sweet for me, especially at the end. I also wanted to kick Mitch in the butt occasionally and I think Kaitlyn should have made him grovel a little bit more for being a jerkface. But this is a Hallmark movie in book form, so I’ll forgive it.

Overall, this was a sweet, easy read that made me want to go rent a romantic room in a cute little inn. If you let yourself let go of reality for a few hours, and just get swept away by holiday cuteness, you’ll love this story.

As suspected when I saw the cover and read the summary of this book, this novel was the perfect read leading up to Christmas.

From the quaint, small-town Southern town to the relatable and lovable characters, everything about this story was addicting and easy to dive into. With no time at all, I was over halfway through the book and not wanting the story to end.

The chemistry between the two main characters was....delightful, to say the least. If I could add one thing to my Christmas list let that item be named Mitch, I mean seriously, where I can sign up for one?!

If you want a quick, yet heartwarming Christmas read, definitely pick this one up and I doubt you will be disappointed. It will get you in the Christmas spirit while also making you want to pick up your life and head to the farthest small-town Bed and Breakfast that you can find for an adventure that awaits.

She grabbed a box of Kleenex along with a large bag of chocolates because if you were going to have a pity party, you needed to do it right… She was hoping to find a Hallmark movie and live vicariously through the actors and actresses on-screen. Their problems could be fixed in a two-hour time slot on television.

    My Review:

This gentle story was perfectly minted for Hallmark, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it listed next year as a holiday movie. I enjoyed this sweet, feel good, small-town tale, it was holiday treat with no calories - although I was frequently taunted with mentions of diet-shattering fudge and other culinary delights. The characters were enticing and highly likable while the storylines and writing were entertaining, engaging, and easy to follow with alternating licks of humor and heart squeezes. With her career in tatters, Kaitlyn packed up and left New York City behind and headed toward her inheritance and only hope, which was her grandparents’ run-down B&B in a small North Carolina town. Although she was unpleasantly surprised to learn she had a partner, one she needed to convince to stay and meet conditions of the will within a two-month time frame or she had nothing. And of course her partner was a handsome and rugged Marine who had other plans in the works, no desire to stay, and an unfortunate history to flee. At least he was smart enough to know that when you mess up and need to grovel, bring a puppy.
