This is book 2 in a new paranormal series by Aussie Author Samantha Jane.

This is a really unique series in that the paranormal world, internal politics, super powers makes up about 50% of the story and the romance is the other 50% of the story. It really is the perfect balance between romance and world build.

While I really liked the first book in the series, Willow (the lead from book 1) was not my girl. However, Eve (from book 2) is 100% there. I love the main character and how dark and edgy she is (not your typical lead). I love the writing - this was a very easy read. I love how action packed it was but there was enough downtime to process and develop the characters (so pacing was perfect). I love the world build and the continuing story arc and I can't wait to see where the world goes in book 3. Most of all I love the HAE (even if you know there will be some ups and downs in the future) - it is a romance book after all :-).

I devoured this when I probably should have been working...but this is the power of reading :-). Well worth supporting a Aussie author (which is rare in this genre) and an Indy author as well. Looking forward to book 3.

Whoa! this book picks up right where book 1 left off, the energy, powers and suspense can be felt throughout the entire journey.

Eve and Granger, together their chemistry is off the charts, but is it real ? Can they really protect each other ?

An absolutely superb addition to this gripping series, this second installment is actually far better than the first - which I thought was amazing. Full of adrenaline, so much happening, perfect writing which kept me reading this whole book in one sitting. I'm left salivating for the next book, love this series.

I had so many feelings towards Eve I didn’t know if to hate or love her, My heart did go out to her so many times through out the story. I loved both characters, first book in the series was good but this one is so much better. Looking forward to the next one.

This is the second book in the Order or Orion and it was better to me than the first one. Eve and Granger are great together and the chemistry is amazing. I really enjoy how the author writes her story and connect the reader and the main characters. This book had a little bit of everything for me, romance, supernatural, surprises, and a great story full of emotion. Thank you for allowing me to read this and write about it.

Awesome sequel to *Starborn*. I especially love the gritty female lead and her psychological complexities. As a scholar of the genre, I'm always interested in how urban fantasy looks at the construction of power. I'm guessing this author has read Elaine Scarry's excellent cultural study, *The Body in Pain* -- could be a good theory companion if teaching this novel.

Tense, sexy and a smooth read

I loved the characters and the plot. Similarities occasionally to other novels was quickly pushed aside by the well-developed characters and the freshness of this Australian author's writing. There is a beautifully ooze of emotion provided both by Granger and Eve, giving us a love story that was tense, highly-charged with sexual longing, edgy and at the same time full of sweetness.

Clever world-building, a fast pace, and touches of brutality haunt the world of the different and give us an exciting read. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book. This maintained the quality so I am definitely looking forward to the next book and what M/s Jane will come up with next.

The first book in The Order of Orion series, Starborn, won me over in no time at all. It sucked me into the world, and I could not wait to find out more about the wonderful world Samantha Jane had created. Thus, I jumped straight into Starcross.

Although Starcross tells an individual romance story, you do need to read Starborn to get the much bigger picture. Things in this book pick up where the prior book left off, and details will only make sense if you have read the prior book. It is a series

It is a series where each romance story will have a start and an end point within an individual book, but to understand the main story throughout you need to read the books in order. If you have yet to read Starborn I suggest you turn back now – I promise, you will not regret reading it.

While I did enjoy Starborn a lot, I loved Starcross even more. In fact, I enjoyed this one even more than I thought possible. After reading Starborn I was excited as to what would come next, after reading the synopsis of Starcross my excitement increased tenfold, and after finishing Starcross I find myself desperate for book three. This series is promising to be absolutely amazing, and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

Picking up where Starborn ended, Starcross follows two of the characters from the first book as we are introduced to the bad guys. Sure, we got a little bit about them at the end of Starborn, but in Starcross we step foot into their world. With Eve as our leading lady, you know you’re in for a good time.

I won’t say too much about the actual events, as I do not wish to be the person handing out spoilers, just know a lot happens throughout this one. Every page has action, every word sucks you in. You’ll be turning page after page, wanting more of the story, needing to know how everything comes together. Everything that happens in this one was so much fun, and I adored it more than I thought possible.

The events were enough to leave me loving the story, but the romance really won me over in this one. I enjoyed the couple in this book so much more than I enjoyed the couple in book one. They went together so well, the events that played out were perfect for them, and I was disappointed when their story reached an end. We’ll get to see more of them in the future books, I’m sure, but it just won’t be the same – I was completely lost to their relationship, falling so deeply.

I think the only thing that disappointed me was the level of darkness in this book. Considering the things that have been said about the bad guys, considering the warnings made to characters, I felt as though things weren’t as dark as they could have been. I was prepared for something much darker, and left the book wishing I’d had a little bit more. There was some darkness to it, bad things do happen, but I’d expected a more consistent level of something darker. That’s just me, though.

Overall, I adored this second book. I’m seriously excited for book three, and cannot wait to get my hands on it!

It is a very good sci-fi romance novel. I enjoyed the first and this second does not fall far in love from the first. I do however want more darkness in the story. The villains seem to be scary in name, but not so much in action.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing.

Une série vraiment sympa et originale. Les personnages manquent parfois de maturité mais globalement un bon moment.
