Everything is going great for Tobi and her advertising agency. She’s been getting new clients, has been getting the bills paid and even has gotten a car. And the cherry on her sundae is that she has been nominated for Best Overall Ad Campaign of the St. Louis Advertising Awards. She’s just excited to have been nominated.

Her 16-year-old photographer, Sam, is also up for the Best Photograph in a Print Ad and when his name is announced as the winner, their table is ecstatic. Then when Tobi’s is next and fingers are crossed at her table, but it was not to be as Deidre Ryan name is announced as the winner. She accepts her Gold Suitcase and proceeds to a stairway that leads to the platform where the winner is to stand while the winning ad is shown on a screen next to the winner. But as she is making her way up the platform and stairs collapse, killing Deidre. Quite naturally, everyone at Tobi’s table first thought is that could have been Tobi, but Tobi’s first thought is that the wrong winner had been announced, as the ad that started to play was for Lexa Smyth.

Tobi asks Sam for the pictures that he took at the dinner so she can confirm what she thought she saw. Once she has a chance to review the pictures, she finds that she was right. She begins to wonder if the production room started to play the wrong clip. But taking a closer look at Sam’s pictures she notices that the envelope was different than those for the previous awards. Now that Tobi realizes that this was, in fact, a murder she sets to find why and hopefully the murderer. Once again Tobi will rely on her office manager, JoAnna, Sam, Mary Fran, owner of a pet shop and Sam’s mom, and of course Grandpa Stu to help her sort through the clues.

In addition, Tobi has another problem to solve. Grandpa Stu has been spending a lot of time visiting Ms. Rapple, Tobi’s nosy neighbor, and he hears Tobi tell her boyfriend, Andy, that she wishes it had never gotten so involved with her. Grandpa Stu was hurt by her comment and has turned from the happy-go-lucky gent to an old curmudgeon.

Another wonderful story from Laura Bradford and a book you won’t want to put down. I was taken completely by surprise when the killer was revealed.

I definitely will be watching for the next book in this delightful series.

And Death Goes to... is Laura Bradford's 3rd book in the Tobi Tobias Mystery Series. Just like the previous books you will find yourself binge reading the whole thing in one or two sittings while the laundry goes undone, the dog goes unwalked and dinner never gets made (you'll be hungry for a while but it's worth it)!

When Tobi is nominated for a major award (even more awesome thank a leg lamp!) in the advertising business, her friends and family are all rooting for her to take home the prize!! When the winner is announced, Tobi is glad it isn't her because the winner ends up being killed in a freak accident...or was it? It seems like something is fishy about the whole thing so Tobi decides to ferret out the truth once again!

Full of endearing characters (yes, even Rapple will grow on you), this well-planned mystery will have you turning the pages faster than Tobi goes through a box of Cocoa Puffs! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book via NetGalley.

And Death Goes To… is the third book in Laura Bradford’s Tobi Tobias Mystery series. This is a steadily paced whodunit with a great storyline, well-developed and three-dimensional characters, lots of humor, and a touch of romance. The mystery is well plotted and there are lots of twists and turns to provide the reader with plenty of plausible suspects. While the murder mystery is intriguing, it takes a backseat to the characters in this installment and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to learn more about some of the sub characters and their backgrounds. I enjoy Ms. Bradford’s witty writing style and look forward to reading more of her books.

Tobi Tobias is the owner of the Tobias Ad Agency and she is one of four people whose ads have been nominated for the St. Louis advertising community’s prestigious Golden Storyboard award for Best Overall Ad Campaign. Sam Wazoli, her best friend’s sixteen-year-old son, has been nominated for an award for his photography because Tobi saw his talent and gave him a chance. Tobi’s happy that her Grandpa Stu is in town for the award ceremony, but to her dismay, he has invited her annoying neighbor, Martha Rapple, to be his plus one. Deidre Ryan is the winner of the Best Overall Ad Campaign, but when she takes the stage, the platform suddenly gives way, and she plunges to her death. Tobi’s secretary, JoAnna Kincaid, had arranged for an after party for Tobi and Sam and the group decides to go forward as planned for Sam’s sake even though the ceremony had a tragic ending. Grandpa Stu overhears Tobi make a derogatory comment to her boyfriend, Andy Zander, about Martha. The police rule the death as suspicious because it appears the stage has been tampered with. Tobi can’t get the scene out of her mind and doubts that Deidre was the intended victim. Tobi and Grandpa Stu try to figure who the intended victim was as well as determine the motive and identify the killer. Although her grandpa is helping her, he isn’t himself and Tobi becomes worried about him.

Tobi is excited to have been nominated for the Golden Storyboard Award this year but the St. Louis Advertising Awards turn out to be not as advertised. They were not supposed to include a murder! Tobi is now thankful she didn’t win because the winner dies when she steps up to receive her award. The room is full of suspects, but was the woman who plunged to her death the actual target? Tobi and her Grandpa Stu are trying to find that out but their relationship strained due to something he overheard Tobi tell her boyfriend Andy Zander. Hopefully, the case can be solved and their relationship saved before anyone else is awarded a trip to the great beyond.

The characters really drew me into the story this time. Grandpa Stu has come to visit but he is spending most of his time with the neighbor that drives Tobi and everyone else in the neighborhood a little crazy. Apparently, Stu sees a totally different side of Martha Rapple. He even brings her to the advertising awards as his date. He later hears Tobi venting to Andy about their relationship and Stu completely shuts down around Tobi and her friends. I could so relate with Tobi, when my mother started seeing a man after my dad passed away, it drove me crazy. I probably said the same things Tobi said and worse.

I really enjoyed the fact that 16-year-old Sam was nominated for an award. He has a keen photographic eye and it was so nice to see him recognized for it.

We also met others in the advertising field as they were all on the list of suspects. Learning the history of the prestigious awards was very interesting too.

The description the author provided for the actual death was heartbreaking. The woman fell to her death in front of a room full of people. That horrible tragedy would be so hard to witness. I truly felt so bad for everyone in that room.

Ms. Bradford really twisted up things with this plot. I thought each of the suspects was the killer at one time or another. They all seemed to have motive and the opportunity to sabotage the platform. As the clues started to snap into place for the actual killer I still thought it was a ruse. To say I was surprised in an understatement.

Humor can be found at each stop to Mary Fran’s pet shop. That parrot always cracks me up.

Laura Bradford is one of my favorite authors. She can combine drama, life experiences, romance and humor in a delightful way. I loved spending time with these characters. I hope to have a return visit soon.

I loved this mystery. The humor in it and the spunky characters....even or especially the grumpy, wacky one. LOL...You'll know who I mean when you read the book. I liked the book so much that I had to read the first two books in the series before writing this review.

Toby is excited to be nominated for the Golden Storyboard Award, a big deal in the advertising world. But when the winner steps onto the platform to celebrate her winning ad it collapses and she falls to her death......

There was always something going on in this story, never a dull moment. The characters came to life and made me feel like I was taking part in this mystery. I had great time solving the murder with Toby and the gang and highly recommend this story to every cozy mystery lover.

A new series to add to my "must-read as they come out" list.

Laura Bradford’s newest in the Tobi Tobias series, And Death Goes To…, is another absolute winner in an awesome mystery series. Not only does the scene replay in her head repeatedly, she can’t help wondering if the surprise winner was the intended victim or if whoever had won was the target. Between her distress over seeing someone she knew die right in front of her and her worry over a sudden change in her grandfather, Tobi’s life is a bit of a mess.

Outstanding characters provide a wonderful reading experience. When intricacies of the murder plot offer the reader a great experience trying to figure who the intended victim was as well as determining the killer and the motive.

The Tobi Tobias series has rapidly become one of my favorite cozy mystery series. The books are consistently well-written, suspenseful, and just fun to read. And Death Goes To...is the third book in the series. I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first two books.

The basics: Tobi's advertising agency is up for an award. She gets all gussied up and goes to the awards banquet. Her firm is up for the Best Overall Ad Campaign Award, and Tobi is incredibly exited. Who can blame her? She's worked hard building up the business in St. Louis, MO. She's excited to be up for the biggest award of the night. The winner takes home the Golden Storyboard, a coveted and prestigious award. The entire evening falls flat after an award winner is killed when a staircase collapses, sending her crashing to the stage below. Turns out it wasn't an accident, but murder. Tobi's Grandpa Stu immediately begins to brainstorm what the motive might be, and soon Tobi finds herself pulled in to yet another murder investigation. Was it greed? Professional jealousy? Revenge? Why would someone have sabotaged that staircase?

I enjoyed this newest bit of sleuthing by Tobi, her Grandpa Stu, and the rest of the gang. The mystery moved at a nice pace with plenty of suspects and investigation. The background theme of the advertising agency and the drama that comes with it is interesting and entertaining. It didn't over power the mystery portion of the book, but adds depth to it. I wasn't surprised by the ending of this one, but enjoyed the action leading up to the reveal. This story provides some great character development for Tobi, her grandpa and his cranky love interest, Ms. Rapple. All in all, a great addition to the series! I'm looking forward to the next book!

I love the Tobi and her friends, so I was thrilled to visit them again. Combined with the suspects, and we’ve got a fantastic set of characters. I did feel that one storyline got in the way of the mystery at times. It didn’t help that I felt Tobi was rather stupid when it came to that situation. However, the mystery itself was very well done, with several good twists and a surprising climax.

NOTE: I received an ARC of this book.

An evening filled with glitz and glamor suddenly takes a turn for the worse when Deidre Ryan steps up to accept her award and the stage platform gives way sending Deidre plummeting to her death. With plenty of suspects to choose from including the woman's husband and fellow associates in the advertising community, Tobi sets out with the help of Grandpa Stu and boyfriend Andy Zander to catch a killer.

The actual mystery often seems to take backstage to a secondary storyline featuring Grandpa Stu and Tobi's nemesis Martha Rapple. While the story does produce a few laugh out louds moments readers have come to expect from the main cast of characters and pets, the plot was somewhat overshadowed by the ongoing situation involving Grandpa Stu and his annoying use of Tobi's nickname "Sugar Lump". Despite this I will not give up on the series, but this particular addition was not my favorite.

I received an advanced copy of And Death Goes To from NetGalley via Kensington Publishing. While not required to write a review I am more than happy to offer my honest opinion.
