Bear just wants to do some fishing alone (with his thoughts) so he sets out after leaving a note on his door. What!?! Bear is gone for an entire week, what will duck do? Duck tries to entertain himself but he really misses Bear. Bear tries to have fun alone fishing with his thoughts but it rains and he's not very talented with camping but he makes due.

Duck can't take it any longer and he sets off to find Bear and when he finds Bear, it is a joyous reunion as they both missed and need each other

The illustrations are lovely and a sweet story about a great friendship.

As much as Bear doesn't seem to like Duck they sure do make a pair. The expression in the pictures is fun and hilarious. The story is sweet and full of Tude. When Duck finds out that Bear is gone, he goes out to find him, and Bear is glad to see him. Duck makes everything alright. I think that I enjoyed this one the most out of all of them so far.

I adore finding another bear book to share and to love. It’s not a “new” story, but Jory John has written one full of chuckles that shows no matter how we might like a bit of ‘alone’ time from a friend, it’s also good to have that friend arrive at just the best moment. Bear decides to go out by himself for a bit of camping and fishing in the woods. Duck soon discovers he’s all alone. My goodness! He doesn’t know what to do. They’ll also love Benji Davies cute cartoon-like and expressive illustrations.

There's a limited amount of text on each page and the characters invite humor and sympathy. The illustrations are simple yet full of expression and character. A different font is used for each characters dialogue making it easy to follow along.

Characters: Both characters are one dimensional, simple and fun for children's reading. Duck is best friends with Bear, is happiest when they are together and doesn't know what to do when Bear is not around. Bear is more independent and solitary but learns the value of Duck's friendship by the end of the book.

Very delightful and made me laugh and smile. Great for a storytime on friendship.

When Duck waddles up to Bear's door, ready to embark on fun times, he finds a note posted:

    "Gone fishin'

    Back next week"

Duck can’t believe his friend left him behind.

"FISHING?! What am I going to do with myself until then?!"

We see Bear's map as he happily stomps through the woods, happy to have a little freedom from his pesky neighbors who knock on his door at all hours.

Meanwhile, Duck is making up everything he can think of to keep himself busy and not think about Bear. Unfortunately, nothing

Meanwhile, Duck is making up everything he can think of to keep himself busy and not think about Bear. Unfortunately, nothing seems to work. He continues to wonder what Bear is doing and if he's having lots of fun.

By now Bear is having trouble setting up the tent, it's starting to rain, he hasn't caught a single fish, he forgot to bring snacks, and he's over-all tired. And SCARED!

What will happen with these two sad friends?

    Nothing

The text and illustrations complement each other beautifully. The expressions on bear's face pretty much tell how he feels about certain things. Both this story as well as the others in the series are worth taking a look at.

consists almost entirely of dialogue, whether between the two characters or internally, as Bear and Duck think to themselves, or exclaim out loud. The artwork by Benji Davies is colorful and amusing, matching the zany sense of humor in the story perfectly. As always with these books, this one makes for an excellent read-aloud at storytime, especially if your have two storytellers assume the roles of Bear and Duck, and really get into their expressions of despair and frustration. Recommended to anyone who enjoyed the first two stories about this ursine/anatine duo, as well as to anyone in the market for humorous picture-books in general.

"Come Home Already!" is a sweet, kinetic story about how opposites attract in the realm of friendship. In the plot, Bear shoves off for a one-week solo fishing trip--craving the prospect of solitude--but Duck isn't quite sure what he'll do without Bear for an entire week! I especially gravitate to Duck's personality, who is a bit all over the place, as opposed to Bear's realism and methodicalness. Davies' drawings really stand out and I especially like how the color palette shifts between Bear (

Poor Bear. He just cannot win; either Duck is all up in his business, and Bear cannot get any rest and relaxation. Or Bear strikes out on his lonesome to get his much needed rest and relaxation and everything falls apart. Poor Bear.
