Almost on an everyday basis, I wish that there was more time in the day so that I could get to all of the books out there that I am sure I am missing out on. This is a serious conflict for us avid readers. I read

several years ago and somehow I never had a chance to get back to this series until now. I wish that I had read all the previous books because I truly feel like I missed out by not getting to spend more time with these incredible characters. To say that I LOVED

is just the tip of the iceberg. I was in book heaven with this one! It had the perfect blend of romantic comedy, intrigue, action, and of course, the yummy steamy bits! There’s a new book boyfriend who has swept me off my feet and I am sure when you all read this, Dan O’Malley is going to steal your hearts!

Kat is the sole heir to a Pharmaceutical empire worth billions. Her mother suffers from an extreme case of catatonic schizophrenia and has been institutionalized for many years. Her father has been suffering from Alzheimer’s and has also been hospitalized for the past three years. Growing up, Kat and her father didn’t have much of a relationship. She was sent away to boarding schools and he was always watching for clues that she may be succumbing to the same sickness her mother had. During her teenage years, Kat felt the need to rebel. She went down a dark road filled with countless casual hook-ups, alcohol, and even drugs. Eventually, she got herself back on track and cleaned up her life, but the damage was done and some of her family considered her to be unstable. Caleb, her cousin, who is currently CEO of her parent’s company is an evil ‘SOB’, who wants to gain access to her parent’s assets, so he plans to prove that Kat is mentally incapacitated so that he can become her legal guardian. This will enable him to gain access to her inheritance. Kat’s legal counsel has been her parent’s lawyer since before she was born and he advises her to get married to someone trustworthy which will thwart her cousin’s attempt to gain guardianship.

Kat goes to her best-friend Steven, but he’s just recently started dating his boyfriend and suggests that she ask Dan O’Malley ‘aka’

, who has been the secret object of her desires for over two years. The two had a “moment” in Vegas where things could have turned romantic between them but a stupid misunderstanding wound up keeping them apart. Kat has no idea that while she has secretly been swooning over Dan, he’s also been hiding his true feelings for her too.

To say that Dan is dumbstruck when Kat proposes is putting it mildly. Kat was certain that he wouldn’t agree to her proposal because she really believes that she isn’t good enough for him. But what she doesn’t realize is that she has been a walking fantasy for him for far too long. Dan jumps at the chance to become her husband. Deep down he’s hoping that feelings will develop between them and maybe it won’t have to end up being a “pretend” marriage, and Kat is definitely wishing for the same.

The romantic tension that builds between Dan and Kat throughout the progression of the story was giving me endless goosebumps. Every kiss and every brush of his fingertips across any part of Kat’s body was driving me insane. I got worked up when he merely kissed the back of her hand!! This man had serious game!! What made it even better was the fact that he truly was a goner for Kat. I loved that Dan somehow always knew when Kat was struggling internally over what was happening between them and he would make sure to express what he was truly feeling about her so as to leave no doubt. It was clear from the start of their marriage that this was going to turn into something everlasting.

Both Dan and Kat have deep rooted insecurities about relationships and added on top of that for Kat is her inability to be intimate which stems from her wild teenage years. Their pasts and dysfunctional families played a huge part. While they try to navigate through their new life as a married couple and deal with issues that affect their relationship, there are also multiple outside threats that they have to contend with that make up the action and intrigue portion of the story.

    Here are my overall ratings:

is currently available. This was such a fantastic book! I hope that you’ll add this one to your TBRs if you haven’t already! If you’ve never read Penny Reid, I honestly can say you’re doing yourselves an injustice!

I don't think any review I write will do this book any justice. For that matter, I doubt any of my reviews do Penny Reid's books justice. So instead of analysing or doing a step by step of the plot, I'm just saying read it.

Give it a chance, stick through the first book and you will slowly but surely fall in love with the writing, the plots and the characters.

My only regret is that this series is now at an end. I shall live off the re-reads until the next book and

A Marriage of inconvenience skillfully crafted with engaging characters, a fresh spin to the trope, and a wonderful blend of wit, sexual tension and heartfelt moments that will make it impossible for you to put your eReader down? ABSOLUTELY!

Kat Tanner is a reluctant heiress. She would have liked to cut all strings to her family, but now it seems that in order to circumvent certain disaster she is in dire need of a husband. Someone who can be trusted and won’t want emotional entanglements. And the only man who fits the bill is Dan the security man who she has a crush on. Thinking that a business proposition with defined expectations would suit the seemingly indifferent man best, Kat takes the plunge hoping her heart will survive. What would she do though if she had it wrong and Dan is interested?

As with all beloved series, the ending is bittersweet. We want to see everyone happily ride into the sunset while wishing the series would keep on going, but without a doubt the overriding emotion was joyful excitement over getting to know a couple whose story has been in the making for a long time. I enjoyed every single beautifully strung word and was pleased and satisfied with this last chapter in the Knitting in the City Series.

Reid pens a fascinating and delightful romance that vibrates with humor, drama and a whole lot of wonderful friendship from the loveable knitters and their respective partners. The antics, camaraderie and loyalty between the ladies will make you want to be part of their close knit tribe.

The chemistry between Kat and Dan is appealing, full of warmth and enhanced by Reid’s brilliant plotting and character development which gives us two seemingly different individuals with different backgrounds and equally dissimilar struggles but who complement one another perfectly. I loved Kat’s journey of self-discovery and hers and Dan’s heart melting romance.

There were so many incredible moments and the best aren’t restricted to the romantic portions. Besides the aforementioned knitting sisterhood there’s also Penny’s ability to educate while entertaining. I always appreciate the snippets of information included in the epigraphs as related to the story. I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

    is standalone contemporary romance by

. T told from both points of view with lots of cursing and happily ever after that will leave you delighted. A must read for any romantic comedy lover.

, riding the elevator with Janie, telling her "You're very big." Yup, that was all it took for me. Over the course of the series it became a forgone conclusion who Dan would end up with and finally, FINALLY we have Kat and Dan's story in our hands.

    One word about

: This short story isn't essential in order to read Marriage of Inconvenience but it gives you insight into Kat and Dan's history - you could say it's the prologue to MOI.

Kat has always been the quiet one in the knitting group. I never really got a good read on her, only that she was shy, loyal, sweet and was pining for Dan, the security man. She believes that Dan doesn't have a romantic interest in her so when finds herself being in a bind that involves her douchebag of a cousin he is the person Kat goes to for help.

The handsome security guy doesn't bat an eye - he gives the puzzle presented to him serious thought and comes up with a solution. And ladies, this is the essence of Dan. He is super-smart, patient and a good, GOOD man. He's witty, tender, hot and and swears like a sailor, just how I like them. And it wouldn't be Dan if he wasn't the baddest of badasses. The speech he gave Kat's cousin was epic. I also adored how much he loved his mother, who by the way is one of my all-time favorite moms of a main character.

Kat has been through a lot and knows that actions have consequences so this is how she lives her life - controlled, always with an eye on possible fallout if a situation goes awry. She isn't very good at relaxing and lives a lot in her head. Dan's gentle, easy-going and patient personality is perfect for her. I loved that he coaxed her out of her shell and in the end, even though she still dwelled on the ramifications when she acted spontaneously or intuitively it never became a big deal again.

As a couple they communicated really well after they cleared any misunderstanding. I loved how into each other they were, they loved the other ones imperfections and singularity. There was no doubt that they were crazy about each other. I loved them so much together. Were there frustrating parts? Sure - saying that this story is a slow burn is a huge understatement but there is a reason for it and I loved how the author approached it.

Penny Reid doesn't write run-of-the-mill characters. They are always unique with adorable, endearing quirks, intelligent and generally good people. As a reader you wish they were real so that you could be friends with them. I'd so sit in their knitting group if they were.

The chapters in this author's books always start with either a quote or a fact that helps to deepen the reader's comprehension of the story. The scientist in me loves that and Marriage of Inconvenience stays true to this concept. If you are wondering if this can be read as a standalone...I actually think you can but you will end up cursing yourself that you didn't read the previous books in this series just because it's so good.

Ms Reid gives us the chance to say goodbye to all of the characters we have come to love. All of them are there with support and advice if any of their friends need it and you know that no matter where life takes them, they will always be in each others' lives.

Marriage of Inconvenience is a worthy and beautiful conclusion to the Knitting in the City series. It is heavy with Penny Reid's signature quirky humor, has a smart story line and emotionally charged. So now it's time for me to let go Janie and Quinn, Elizabeth and Nico, Sandra and Alex , Ashley and Drew, Fiona and Greg, Marie and Matt and finally, Kat and Dan. I'm pretty sure we'll see them pop up in other books by this author...and thank God for re-reads.

was one of my most anticipated books of the year. I love Penny Reid’s writing, and I am obsessed with her Knitting in the City series. After 7 books, it feels like these characters are my own friends and family. And knowing this book was Dan’s just got me that much more excited!!!

Katis in a bind. Her terrible, no good, cousin is trying to take over her family’s company, and to do that, he has to take legal control over Kat’s person. To avoid that, her best option is to get married as soon as possible. Who could Kat ask though? Dan the Security Man of course. Dan is all to willing to help Kat with her problem.

I love Dan. Seriously. This man makes me laugh like no other, he has the biggest heart, and I just completely adore him. He has a foul mouth, but it made the book that much more hilarious! Just search how many times the f-bomb was dropped and you’ll get a good chuckle.

Kat is one of those heroines that even though I couldn’t completely related to, I still liked so much. She is imperfect, and though she’s a little hard on herself at times, she always owns up to her mistakes. I loved how Dan showed her it was okay not to be perfect, none of us are. I think even though these two seem like an unlikely pair, they compliment each other wonderfully.

It was great to see the rest of the Knitting crew and follow along to where their stories are going. I very much hope this isn’t the last that we see of this crew, but if it is, it ended on a high note. Another thing I thought was fantastic about this story was Dan’s mom. I loved her so much!

Penny Reid writes smart. She writes interesting stories full of facts, and endearing characters you can't help but to love. I never tire of her writing and will read any book she puts out! This series is some of her best work, and if you haven’t read them, I can’t recommend doing so enough!

When her pharma-bro cousin tries to take legal action over her life, Kat must turn to a friend for marriage right away to escape his evil grasp. When she asks her friend Dan, he’s happy to help her with her situation.

I wish I could say more than that, but anything else is much too spoilery.

I wish I could say more than that, but anything else is much too spoilery.

This is the book that all of Penny Reid’s fans have been waiting for and it’s here! There were swoony parts, funny parts, sexy parts and frustrating parts. But it all made up an excellent romance novel that many readers will thoroughly enjoy.

I liked that we finally got to see Kat and Dan’s perspective, after so many books before where we saw the perspectives of the other characters in the Knitting series. I think this book did a good job of clarifying what took so long for these two to get moving with their romance (I mean seriously it was like a 3 year slow burn or something).

I really liked Kat as a heroine, she’s not perfect and while she strives to be, she also knows she’s made mistakes and tried to own up for them along the way. Because of her past some things aren’t what she’s used to but with a little love that could all change. Dan was a great hero, with all the handsome and broody aspects he was there for Kat and was exactly what she needed.

I do wish this book had been a tad bit angstier, but that’s just me and my angst whore preferences. Reid is excellent at dishing out the angst and I had my spoon ready to eat it up. There were also parts of the book where I couldn’t tell if some things the characters said were their own opinions and not the author’s opinion, and that took me out of the story a bit. It felt a little preachy and that’s not something I enjoy in my romance/escape reading.

Overall a really solid novel and as I said before I think all of Penny Reid’s fans will love this story. Now I just have to impatiently wait until Billy’s novel in the Winston Brothers series is here!

But if you have read the previous books than you will remember Kat as being the quiet one of the group that. I actually wasn't too sure what to think of her character and I didn't know how her own story would go.

Getting to dig deeper into her character showed us a very strong character, though. Even at times when Kat was being her usual reserved self there was still this edge of power in her personality and I loved getting to see that side to her. I think what I liked most was that she still had her moments where she let the anxiety creep in and was unsure of herself but she would always come out ahead of her fears. She also had many quirks, like her love of cheese, but those things are what I found endearing about her.

There were a lot of awkward moments between Kat and Dan that had me cracking up and made me love both of them even more. Dan was a bit reserved just like Kat but he didn't have such a hard time opening up and I thought it was interesting to get and see him try and break down Kat's walls. Both of them were ridiculously stubborn and refused to see what was right in front of them, but it had me captivated and I couldn't wait to see them figure out they were perfect together.

I'm sad to see my favorite group of knitters come to an end but I will still hold out hope that there will be more to come from Dan's brother. This series is hugely recommended and I think any reader will easily fall in love with this eclectic group of characters.

➦I really enjoyed the writing and the characters in this one. There were a lot of interesting issues brought up here, and I always appreciate this about Penny Reid's books. They make you stop and think a little bit. On top of it it was very entertaining and really steamy at times. It did feel a tad too long, probably just me though. I recommend this to anyone who likes arranged marriage tropes and reads that are full of humor, steam and a bit of suspense!
