Upon receiving Skinny Suppers from Amazon, I sat down and read through the whole book. "Wow, I love how this is organized" was my first thought. The second thought I had was "My family will eat these recipes!" Simple, easy, well-explained recipes and tips make this a wonderful addition to my kitchen. Yes, some of the ingredients call for packaged/processed items, BUT they are easily substituted with your own version of unprocessed items. All of the ingredients are easily found at your local groc

Yes, some of the ingredients call for packaged/processed items, BUT they are easily substituted with your own version of unprocessed items. All of the ingredients are easily found at your local grocery store, which is a huge plus as I do not have to order them online.

To me, Skinny Suppers is a way to quickly and easily prepare a family meal that is healthier for my family and allow us time to actually sit down together and enjoy good food and conversation. One thing I really enjoy is that the website offers a monthly meal planner. I can print it out and adjust the meals for how much time I may have on a certain day or replace one my family isn't quite so crazy about.

Lots of good recipes in this book. I like that she gives alternative cooking methods if you don't own a slow cooker.

I like to refer back to this book to do some of the recipes in it . Some of the ideas of making your own blends sounds doallbe.

The recipes that I have tried so far are DELICIOUS!

Title may be technically accurate but these are not diet recipes. Yet some nice different ideas. Already made chicken in a blueberry balsamic sauce that was yummy!

I have tried and enjoyed quite a few of the recipes, some of which are now in my regular rotation. The flavors are great and very family-friendly. A few things I do not like though are that she uses a lot of prepackaged (very processed) ingredients that I have been trying to remove from my diet, like canned condensed soup. There are several recipes using condensed "cream of something" soups! I make my own from-scratch substitution when she does these types of things, but it make the recipe take

I make my own from-scratch substitution when she does these types of things, but it make the recipe take longer. The other thing I dislike is that her cooking times are wrong, like a lot wrong. It is not because I am a slow cook, because one time I added up the times she had written out for how long to sautéed and cook various steps and it added up to more than the "total time" listed at the top of the page. That editing error is seriously annoying when you have small children running around and are on a timeline already.

Ok, but the positives: full page photos for all the recipes, chapters divided by main dish ingredients (poultry, pasta, vegetarian, etc), and some really yummy dinners that include vegetables. A few of my favorites are the Turkey Taquitos, Grilled Chicken and Fruit Salad Wrap, Slow-Cooker Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup, Veggie and Cheese Manicoti, and Slow Cooker Chili Peach Glazed Pork Tenderloin. I would make all of these recipes again which is why the book gets 4 stars despite the issues I have.

Several good recipes that my whole family will eat. So far I’ve tried the rustic beef stew and sweet potato biscuits. I picked this up because it was mentioned in a super healthy kids video.

Nothing special...especially after being a fan of her website...skinnymom.com. Save your money just check out the website.

Really enjoyed the beginning of her cookbook with her story and why "suppertime" is so important for families. For the family that wants to eat a little healthier than the Standard American Diet these recipes are great! I was not fan of all of the processed foods that she used although you could use substitution. I am excited to try the recipes that I saved. I liked how she put tips on every page as well.
