Brave

Brave

Ivy Morgan hasn't been feeling like herself lately. Not like anyone can blame her. After all, being held captive by a psychotic fae prince hell-bent on permanently opening the gates to the Otherworld is bound to leave some mental scars. It’s more than that, though. Something dark and insidious is spreading throughout Ivy, more powerful than she could ever imagine... and it...

Actual rating for this book should be 4 stars, but I gave it a bit more out love for the hole trilogy and the author.

You know that moment when you're so excited about something you can't wait for it to happen, only to be kind of disappointed and with it? This book was like that.

Don't get me wrong, I very much liked this book. It had tons of action, sexy moments, laugh out loud scenes and betrayals. I don't regret reading it and it was an amazing sequel in this series.

But something was missing. Something important and defining.

One of the things I liked most about this book was the fact that it tried to avoid clichés and veer of the expected path. The fact that the author made her characters more aware of theirs flaws and mistakes is commendable.

was by far the most awesome and hilarious character.

was a purely perfect book-boyfriend, because such an understanding and wonderful person can rarely be found in real life.

, well, half the time I wanted to bitch-slap her for being so stupid and the other half I wanted to hug her in sympathy for everything she went through.

I usually don't care if there are spelling or grammatical mistakes in a book, or things like that. If there are a few and they don't interfere with my enjoying of the book then I usually forget about them.

This time though there were some in this book. And they were obvious enough that even

    noticed them.

Maybe that's what stopped me from loving this book as much as the others. This feeling that the author didn't put as much 'heart' in this one.

Or again, maybe it's all in my head.

Anyway, I totally recommend this book for all fans of this genre and/or this author.

    Perfect ending to this trilogy!

Brave is the third book in the Wicked Saga, you need to have read Wicked and Torn before reading this book. Now she lives in a good fae haven, dealing with some serious PTSD from being held captive. Pulling away from her friends and loved ones, Ivy retreats into herself more and more. But with the threat of the Prince finding them and ending the world, she needs to shape up and get her act in gear to save the world.

Jennifer Armentrout is one of those very few authors that my reading tastes click with. And I mean I love her books, every single time. Reading her books is like coming home to your bestie and falling effortlessly into that friendship mode. Does that make any sense? This series also feels like a gift to the readers, she takes time out of her busy publishing schedule to bring us a fun indie PNR series. It's a readers treat!

Everyone loves Tink, let's be real. Half the reviews on here are about him. And I ADORE TINK. I want to hug him and never let go! He reminds me a lot of Jenks from the Kim Harrison Hollows series. My dream book would have a collaboration between Tink and Jenks in their own book. MIND BLOWN! And his connection with a new character? Seriously amazing and I want Tink to get his own book. Like yesterday.

Ivy and Ren... *sigh*. Hashtag couple goals! Ren is amazing and the way he loves Ivy is even better. I didn't want this book to ever end. I will be holding out for any and all spin offs that come from this series! And if you haven't started this series yet because you were waiting for it to be done......... well it's done so you have no excuse and should be reading book 1 right now instead of my review! I mean it!

It took me forever and a hot day to get started on Brave because the end of trilogy always induces INSANE amounts of anxiety in my body. There was most definitely some bad but mostly good moments that makes JLA's writing bomb.

I could see where this book was going. Jen probably wanted to focus on building Ivy and Ren's relationship and that in of itself took up nearly half the book! Good character development all around but it kind of lagged after while...

Because I mean, I came for the badass fight scenes. You can't say that stuff isn't gold, because it'll likely knock you over the head with a solid bar. I felt as though the end was anticlimactic; just so much could have happened in the climax but everything wrapped itself up so neatly. There was new material introduced!!

Annnd... there was new material introduced! In true JLA fashion, I scent a spinoff in the future. A spinoff that I am excited about because the Prince (who still has no name) is just mmm-mmm fine. Fiiiiine. Overall, Brave is all in good fun and a good ending to a wonderful series.

    Hopefully, after I read

(ideally less than a year . . . preferably tomorrow . . . but less than a year is fine with me . . . please, please, please don't make me wait any longer . . . I will want

so badly . . . and am I the only who randomly thought about the Disney movie?)

Exciting, sexy, emotional, funny and romantic, this is a great finish for the trilogy!

The book begins with Ivy still reeling from the events of the previous book. She is lost and struggling to come to terms with all that she’s been through and what it means to her now, and it leaves her confused, distracted grief-stricken and withdrawn. It’s an emotional and angsty time as she pulls away from everybody, but she’s a strong girl, and she has Ren and Tink by her side as she works through it

The book begins with Ivy still reeling from the events of the previous book. She is lost and struggling to come to terms with all that she’s been through and what it means to her now, and it leaves her confused, distracted grief-stricken and withdrawn. It’s an emotional and angsty time as she pulls away from everybody, but she’s a strong girl, and she has Ren and Tink by her side as she works through it all.

And she needs to do it quickly, because the fae Prince is still out to wreak havoc on the world, and it’s up to Ivy, Ren, their fae allies, and a mysterious stranger, to save the day.

I don’t want to say anything about the story because there are twists and turns as it all unfolds and it’s exciting, fun and surprising, with lots of action and a whole lot of supernatural badassery going down and I couldn’t flip pages fast enough. There’s a nice amount of emotion as it all plays out, too, with Ivy dealing with big changes in her life, as well as facing up to the fight ahead with strength and determination.

And, of course, the romance is absolutely gorgeous as Ivy and Ren’s relationship shifts and changes, their passion for each other continues to sizzle (hot damn!), and their love for each other is beautiful to see.

And Tink continues to be a complete scene stealer – bringing not only his own version of badass, but also some much-appreciated humour. I freaking love that brownie!

    The book finishes off

well, bringing lots of twists and turns but still managing to close off the main storylines, while leaving the door open for more, with a spin-off novella coming soon that I can’t wait to get my hands on!

This was a fun read, and fans of the trilogy will not be disappointed with this big finale. It's not my favourite read by this author, but it is proof of why JLA remains one of my favourite writers of YA/NA paranormal romance.

    4 stars.

I got a little bored with this one. There were some interesting twists in the plot and Ivy and Ren's relationship is as steamy as ever. It was funny and dramatic, but... I don't know, it just wasn't as compelling as the first book. Maybe if I had read the series back-to-back I would feel differently, but I guess I lost interest in this storyline over the years. Tink is still one of my favorite characters, though.

This title is quite funny because we all know wich Disney character Ivy looks like 😉 (*ahem* Merida)

Well, the title should be more like: Foolishly Brave!

The times the author has mentioned

    - “Red hair” and

    - “Green eyes” – I think I couldn’t find any more adjectives if I had to describe them. 5% of each part of the whole three parts? It is been mentioned! *sighs*

And ugh that plot-twist! And dude that ending kind of sucks! How can you like leave it at that?
